OnePlus 2 - Reason Not to Buy

OnePlus has started rolling out the OxygenOS 3.1.0 update to OnePlus 2 users. This update comes with both the QuadRooter patch as well as the August Security patch. And yes, it also fixes a lot of other software bugs and improves the performance of the device. It is good to see the company actually rolling out these software updates to OnePlus 2 as well. Better late than never.

According to the changelog for this update, Oxygen OS 3.1.0 fixes some of the notification issues, improves performance in Doze-Mode and also adds media sound toggle in the alert slider. It also fixes the silent mode issue that many users faced with the alert slider. And as mentioned, the update improves the overall performance of the device as well. If you don’t know what QuadRooter issues is, it is a set of four vulnerabilities that affected all the Qualcomm chipsets. The issue was reported last month, and since then all the users are patiently waiting for an update to clear it.

According to the reports, if your device is affected by any one of the four vulnerability, then any attacker can attack your device easily and gain the root access. All this can be done using an app or any other program. The worst part is, the user won’t even know for sure if the device is being attacked as it doesn’t require any special permissions or anything like that. So now that the update has been rolled out finally for the OnePlus 2, users can take continue using their devices without any issues.

If you are a OnePlus 2 user, then you should have the update by now. If you haven’t received the update yet, then be sure to go software update setting and check for any new update. Once you have it, update it immediately and make sure your device is safe. If you are a OnePlus 2 user, then let us know if you have received the update or not yet. • Good, but they should roll out updates sooner to fix those long pending issues.

No update yet. I am bit skeptical shile installing updates since OP always send updates with bugs and then rectify and resend. Even if I get update, I will not install it right away.

No VoLTE in this update is another let down.
