OPPO India who’s been making affordable smartphones in the country for multiple price brackets has today unveiled its latest flagship series. OPPO Reno series has been the new flagship smartphones made by the company, which has been initially launched in the Chinese market early this year. The OPPO Reno series launched earlier had three different variants which included – the OPPO Reno, Reno 10x Zoom and the OPPO Reno 5G variant as well. The company in India has launched the former two options, which are the latest flagships that are said to be coming with exciting new features.
The OPPO Reno standard variant comes with a sleek, unified body, which is a mix of a glossy and matte finish build. The phone is claimed to have undergone 48,000 drop tests and said to be having long lasting durability as well. The OPPO Reno will be featured in four color variants that include – Ocean Green, Jet Black, Sunset Rose, and Sunset Purple respectively.
OPPO Reno comes with a 6.4-inch OLED screen featuring a 19.5:9 notch-less display and achieves a screen-to-body-ratio of 93.1%. When it comes to the chin at the bottom, it is said to be 13% smaller than the OPPO R17. The full-screen display is further supported by Corning Gorilla Glass 6 protection. Under the OLED display, there’s an optical fingerprint unlock sensor for additional security as well. What’s unique about the new OPPO Reno is the Shark Fin Rising camera on the top of the giant screen that is equipped with a selfie shooter.
The OPPO Reno, under the hood, is powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 710 SoC, which is built on a 10nm process and Adreno 616 GPU. The phone features a dedicated Gaming/Hyper Boost mode to experience gaming more swiftly. The device is further equipped with 8GB of RAM and 128GB of onboard storage.
As for the optics, the OPPO Reno is equipped with a 48MP Sony IMX 586 primary sensor of the back, which has an aperture of f/1.7 and it is paired with a 5MP depth sensor with f/2.4 aperture. The dual rear cameras come with a bunch of new features that include Ultra Night Mode, a new Artistic portrait mode and also supports 3D-Lut Cinematics 4K video recording as well. Up front, the Reno comprises of a 16MP selfie camera hidden under the shark fin structure, which has an aperture of f/2.0 and also has Soft LED flash support.
OPPO Reno ships with ColorOS 6 out-of-the-box, which runs on Google’s latest Android 9.0 Pie. The OPPO Reno is kept alive by 3765mAh battery that supports OPPO’s native VOOC fast charge 3.0 as well. The Reno further comes with stereo speakers and a 3.5mm headphone jack, wherein the stereo speakers come with Dolby Atmos support and have a Hi-Res audio certification too.
The OPPO Reno has been launched today in the country alongside the flagship OPPO Reno 10X Zoom and as for the pricing is concerned the OPPO Reno 6GB/128GB starts at Rs 32,990.
