OPPO R9 & R9 Plus with 4GB RAM & 16MP Selfie Camera Launched, Price Starts from 2,799 Yuan

As announced earlier, OPPO has unveiled its latest high-end smartphones OPPO R9 & R9 Plus in China. We already covered about the leaked specifications of both the devices and the official specifications are no different from them. Both the devices in the R9 series runs on Android 5.1.1 Lollipop with Color OS 3.0 laid on top. The devices come built into a metal body with a physical home button on the front that has an integrated fingerprint sensor.

While there are no changes in the design, the OPPO R9 comes with 5.5-inch display with Full HD resolution while the R9 Plus sports a larger 6-inch display with same 1080p resolution. Under the hood, the R9 comes powered by Helio P10 octa-core processor clocked at 2.0GHz and the R9 Plus has a 64-bit Snapdragon 652 octa-core processor.The devices come with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage. There is also a MicroSD card slot for storage expansion upto 128GB.

There is a 16MP selfie camera with f/2.0 aperture on both the devices and on the rear, the OPPO R9 comes with a 13MP sensor while the R9 Plus comes with a 16MP sensor. The OPPO R9 is backed by a 2,850mAh battery and the R9 Plus includes a much better 4,120mAh battery. With the VOOC flash charging the device can be charged from very quickly when compared to normal chargers.

The R9 and R9 Plus comes with dual SIM support with 4G LTE connectivity. The R9 measures just 6.6 mm thickness and weighs 145 grams and the R9 Plus with its bigger battery measures 7.4 mm thickness and weighs 185 grams. According to the company, the fingerprint sensor on the R9 devices can unlock in just 0.2 seconds. The device will be available in Gold and Rode Gold colors.

Talking about the price, the R9 comes with a price tag of 2799 Yuan (approx $430 / Rs. 28,750) and the 6-inch R9 Plus costs 3299 Yuan (approx $507/ Rs. 33,900). The OPPO R9 will be available from March 24 and the R9 Plus from April 12th. There is no information about the launch of both the OPPO R9 & R9 Plus in India. Stay tuned for more updates!
