OPPO has unveiled their latest R7 and R7 Plus in China way back in May 2015. The OPPO R7 went on pre-orders last month in few selected European countries. Today we have received the invite for an OPPO event that will be held in New Delhi on September 2, 2015. The Invite reads “OPPO India invites you to redefine style with metal” along with a number 7.
We expect the company to launch the OPPO R7 on that day, but there is also a chance to launch its larger sibling R7 Plus. The OPPO R7 comes with a metallic body with curved edges. It sports a 5-inch Full HD (1920×1080) AMOLED display with a pixel density of 445ppi and with a 2.5D Gorilla Glass 3 protection on top it.
It is powered by a 64-bit Snapdragon 615 octa-core processor with a clock speed of 1.5GHz, coupled with Adreno 405 GPU and 3GB of RAM. There is 16GB of internal storage on this device and can be expandable up to 128GB via a microSD card. The device supports dual SIM dual standby with a hybrid SIM slot, where you can insert microSD card instead of one SIM slot.
Talking about the camera, it has a 13MP rear camera with Schneider-Kreuznach optics and LED flash, on the front it has an 8MP sensor for selfies and video calls. It is powered by a 2,320mAh non-removable battery and supports the company’s patented VOCC fast charging that can charge up to 75% in just 30 minutes.
It runs on Android 4.4.4 KitKat based Color OS 2.1. Connectivity on this device includes 4G LTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Wi-Fi Direct, Bluetooth 4.0, GPA/A-GPS/GLONASS, and a microUSB 2.0. The device measures 143 x 71 x 6.3 mm and weighs 147 grams.
The OPPO R7 is priced at 2499 RMB in China which translates to RS.25,750, but we don’t have any exact information on the pricing of the device in India. This device lacks the Fingerprint sensor that was featured on the OPPO R7 Plus. As the actual event is just one week, we will update you with the official information from the launch until then stay tuned!
