While Xiaomi and Honor are launching new smartphones with aggressive price tags, OPPO still going with the sub Rs. 15,000 price tag with below par specifications. As we reported earlier, the new OPPO A83 is officially launched in India for Rs. 13,990. The device will be sold via online and offline stores starting January 20th. The OPPO A83 will be competing with the Xiaomi Mi A1, Honor 7X, and the newly launched Honor 9 Lite smartphones.

The smartphone comes with the same specification as seen on the Chinese variant. It sports a HD+ 18:9 display on the front with the metal unibody design. It runs on Android 7.1 Nougat out of the box and we don’t expect the company to release the Android 8.0 Oreo update anytime soon. The company also replaced the fingerprint sensor with Face Unlock on the new OPPO A83.
