After several leaks and rumors, Meizu has officially launched the Meizu M6s (a.k.a mBlu S6) smartphone today in China. It is the company’s first smartphone to feature the new 18:9 display technology. As seen with the earlier launched M-series smartphone the new M6s also comes with “value for money” price tag. The new Meizu M6s is also the world’s first smartphone to use the Samsung’s Exynos 7872 processor.

On the design front, the Meizu M6s sports a metal body with 2.5D curved glass on the front. The single sensor camera on the rear protrudes slightly out of the back body. The device also features a pressure-sensitive sensor to offer the same experience as using the mBack home button. Meizu is calling this virtual halo button as Super mBack, and the user can swipe left or right on the bottom part to switch between the apps.

With the smaller bezels on the front, the device sports a side-facing fingerprint sensor. Unlike the high-end Xperia devices, Meizu is not integrating the fingerprint sensor and the power button. It sports a 5.7-inch In-cell display with HD+ (1440 × 720 pixels) resolution and 18:9 aspect ratio. Under the hood is the 14nm Samsung Exynos 7872 hexa-core processor clocked at 2.0GHz and comes coupled with Mali-G71 GPU.

It packs 3GB of RAM and will be available in 32GB and 64GB storage variants. There is also a MicroSD card slot for expanding the storage up to 128GB. Talking about the cameras, there is a 16MP rear camera with f/2.0 aperture and an 8MP front camera with the same f/2.0 aperture. The Meizu M6s runs on Android 7.1.2 Nougat based FlymeOS 6.2 out of the box. It also supports dual SIM dual standby and offers VoLTE connectivity.

The device is backed by a 3,000mAh battery that also supports in-house fast charging technology. Connectivity options include 4G, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.2, GPS, and 3.5mm audio jack. The Meizu M6s measures 152 × 72.5 × 8 mm and weighs 160 grams. Coming to the pricing, the device costs 999 Yuan (approx $155 / Rs. 9,900) for the 32GB storage variant and 1199 Yuan (approx $186 / Rs. 11,900) for the 64GB storage variant.

As of now, there is no information about the availability of the Meizu M6s smartphone in the foreign market. In China, the smartphone is now available to pre-order and will go on sale starting January 19th. Stay tuned on PhoneRadar for more details!
