OPPO A7 3GB & 4GB RAM Variants Price Slashed by up to Rs 2,000 in India

In November 2018, OPPO launched the OPPO A7 smartphone in the Indian market. The device came in 3GB and 4GB RAM variants and was launched for Rs 14,990 and Rs 16,990 respectively. Last month, the company slashed the price of the 4GB RAM variant by Rs 1,000. Now, the company announced another price cut of Rs 1,000 on the 4GB RAM variant which brings down the retail price to Rs 14,990. Talking about the 3GB RAM variant of the OPPO A7, the company announced a discount of flat Rs 2,000 and is now available for Rs 12,990.

We don’t think the latest price cut will boost the sales of this device. There are smartphones with much better hardware and also costs way less than the OPPO A7. The device comes with a 6.2-inch IPS display with HD+ (1520 x 720 pixels) resolution and Corning Gorilla Glass 3 protection. Under the hood is the two-year Snapdragon 450 octa-core processor. Even the last year’s Realme C1 priced at Rs 6,999 offered the same Snapdragon chipset. Both the 3GB and 4GB RAM variants come with 64GB of internal storage and include a MicroSD card for storage expansion.

The device still runs on Android 8.1 Oreo-based ColourOS 5.2 out of the box. We don’t think it will receive the latest Color OS 6.0 update anytime sooner. In terms optics, the OPPO A7 sports 13MP + 2MP dual camera setup on the rear with f/2.2 aperture and a 16MP selfie camera on the front with f/2.0 aperture. It also comes with a rear-facing fingerprint scanner and support face unlock.
