OnePlus has recently unveiled its latest flagship – the OnePlus 6T. The company had launched the new OnePlus 6T globally at the launch event in New York last week. The 6T was unveiled in two of its popular color variants – the Midnight Black and the Mirror Black, which we have seen earlier with the OnePlus 6. However, OnePlus has unveiled its new Thunder Purple color variant of the OnePlus 6T in a launch event conducted in China today.
The OnePlus 6T features an all-new 6.41-inch AMOLED display that carries a new on-screen fingerprint scanning technology. The company states that ‘Screen Unlock’ is the new way to unlock the OnePlus 6T and it uses an optical fingerprint scanning technology that takes 0.34 seconds to unlock the device. The display gets a refreshed look compared to OnePlus 6 that launched earlier with a notch. OnePlus has reduced the notch and calls it the ‘Smaller Notch’ which hosts a front facing camera and a speaker grille on top of it.
As for the specifications, the OnePlus 6T comes with top-of-the-line specs that include the latest Snapdragon 845 SoC, Adreno 630 GPU paired with 6GB/8GB of RAM and 128/256GB of onboard storage. Despite the new design and unlocking features, OnePlus took a drastic step with its new OnePlus 6T – it has also ditched the 3.5mm headphone jack on the OnePlus 6T (Similar to what Google did it with Pixel devices last year). It now provides a USB Type-C to 3.5mm adapter in the box.
As for the pricing of the new OnePlus 6T, In China it starts at CNY 3399 for the base variant 6GB/128GB and CNY 3599 for the 8GB/128GB variant and CNY 3999 for the 8GB/256GB variant.
