Xiaomi has launched its AirDots Earbuds which will be a direct competitor to Apple’s AirPods. The AirDots are priced at 199 Yuan (approx Rs. 2,100) and will be coming with Bluetooth 5.0 connectivity for wireless streaming. Moreover, this wireless headset weighs just 4.2 grams and the design that comes with certain soundproof effects. The headset can play music up to 4 hours and there is a charging box that comes along with the device which can charge the headset for 12 hours.
Moreover, the headset will get charged automatically when put into the charging box and will also shut down automatically after placing inside it. When taken out of the box, it will connect to the previously connected device automatically by turning itself on. The launched product will be the Youth Edition AirDots that will be available for sale from November 11th midnight on Xiaomi Mall, Xiaomi Youpin, Tmall, Jingdong, and Suning. The Xiaomi Home will also be available for sale from the same time.
The company claims that with the support of Bluetooth 5.0, the frequent single-ear disconnections can be reduced by a big margin which will allow its users to enjoy music without interruptions. When worn firmly, there AirDots will not fall off easily so that it can be worn during physical activity or even by traveling via public transport. There is a touch panel built on both sides of the earphone which can realize when the music is paused or even answering or rejecting a call.
The AirDots Youth Edition will also be supporting two-way wake-ups and with the aggressive pricing from Xiaomi, it will be interesting how it will be competing with other wireless headsets in the market.
