OnePlus has been in the limelight for most times this year, with its OnePlus 2 smartphone and later their smallest, OnePlus X, which is yet to go on sale in many regions. But recent reports popping up online suggests that it might not be the smallest device of the company, as a listing on GFXBench points to a new OnePlus device coming with the 4.6-inch 1080p display.
We have heard a lot of rumors for both the OnePlus products launched this year, and most of them seem to be true. And that’s what kept us tinkering with such reports. It may not or may not be true, but this listing on the popular benchmarking site suggests that OnePlus might be working on a real mini variant of OnePlus 2. I think everyone here agrees that OnePlus X (OPX) isn’t exactly a mini variant of OnePlus 2 (OP2) or OnePlus One (OPO), but it is rather a different device. We have highlighted this point in our comparison of OnePlus X and OnePlus 2.
Now coming to the specifications part other than the screen size, the device seems to be powered by a Snapdragon 810 chipset and Adreno 430 GPU, which is a similarity with OP2. Coupled with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage, this seems to be the super powered variant device with small screen size. Does a high-end compact size phone ring a bell? Yes, we are talking about the Apple iPhone 6s. Maybe OnePlus is finally heating that sweet spot to compete with iPhone 6S.
Admitting that some rumors are just too good to be true, but if that’s the case, then be it may. But possibilities such as this may be the right tool to provoke manufacturer that its consumers want such smartphone. If this device comes to life, then it would be the most powerful compact smartphone.
We just want to put it out there that Sony Xperia Z3 Compact was the ultimate mini flagship. It had the right amount of everything and was considered as the true mini flagship unlike mini variants from other brands. Although, remember we do advise you to take this rumor with the pinch of salt.
