A couple of months back, HMD Global launched a new smartphone called Nokia X6 in the all-new X-series. Though the company has teased to launch the Nokia X6 in other markets, it is only limited to the Chinese market. The Nokia X6 is also the company’s first smartphone to come with a notch display. Recently, there are leaks suggesting the company to launch the Nokia X6 as Nokia 6.1 Plus in the international markets.
According to the source, HMD Global is getting ready to launch the Nokia 6.1 Plus in Hong Kong on July 19th. While we already know the specifications, the pricing and availability will be announced on the launch day. In the coming weeks, the company will also launch the Nokia X5 (a.k.a Nokia 5.1 Plus) in China. Talking about the Nokia 6.1 Plus, it will be coming with a 5.8″ Full HD+ (2280 x 1080 pixels) display with 19:9 aspect ratio and Corning Gorilla Glass 3 protection.
Under the hood is the 64-bit Qualcomm Snapdragon 636 octa-core processor coupled with Kryo 260 CPU and Adreno 509 GPU. The device might come in 4GB and 6GB RAM variants with 32GB and 64GB of storage options. It also comes with Android 8.1 Oreo out of the box with customized skin laid on top. Talking about the cameras, there is a 16MP + 5MP dual camera setup on the rear with f/2.0 aperture.
For selfies, there is a 16MP camera on the front with f/2.0 aperture. It is backed by a 3,060mAh battery and supports dual SIM dual standby. Though the device comes with the fingerprint sensor, it also supports face unlock. Connectivity options include 4G LTE, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 5.0, GPS, NFC, 3.5mm audio jack, and USB Type-C port.
