Nokia 5.1 Starts receiving Android 9 Pie Update

Nokia 5.1 is now getting the latest Android 9.0 Pie update and the announcement was made on Twitter by HMD’s Chief Product Officer – Juho Sarvikas. The update might take some time to reach your device depending on your region. The update should be bringing all the features associated with Android 9 Pie and we can expect it to be over 1 GB in size.

If you can’t wait for the update, go to the settings of the smartphone and check if the download file is available. Now if the file is available, you need to download it before installation. Now make sure the handset has enough battery on it for the update to be installed and keep the data backup just to be on safe side. Well, the Nokia 5.1 Plus comes with a 5.86-inch display with IPLS LCD screen.

Under the hood, there is a Mediatek Helio P60 SoC on this handset coupled with Mali-G72 MP3 GPU. The device came out of the box with Android 8.1 Oreo OS and features a  13MP rear-facing sensor with PDAF and also a secondary 5MP depth sensor camera with LED flash. For selfies, there is an 8MP camera with f/2.2 aperture size and also has a fingerprint sensor on the rear to enhance the security levels.

The Nokia 5.1 Plus is available in 3GB / 32GB variants as well as 4GB / 64GB option and also has a microSD card slot to extend the storage further. TO power the handset there is a 3060 mAh battery on the back and in the month of October 2018, Juho Sarvikas announced that the device will be getting the update by the end of 2018, but it came 3 months later.
