Now users can book IRCTC tickets through Google Pay

Ever since Google had launched its UPI-based payments gateway system in India, the Mountain View-based tech giant has been rolling out significant features within the app. Introduced as Google Tez and now transformed as Google Pay has become one of the prominent payment gateways used by several consumers across the country. The app had initially offered a money transfer facility within the contacts or through a bank account number based on the Unified Payment Interface system launched by Government of India. Not only Google Pay there are several other similar services offered by PhonePe, PayTm and the recently launched Xiaomi’s Mi Pay as well.

With the evolving digital payments across the country, Google had decided to launch a new facility wherein users can book their train ticket via their IRCTC account within the Google Pay app. Starting today, users can book the train tickets via Google Pay, and Google assures a simpler money transaction process with their UPI-based payment gateway. The company has rolled out the new train booking feature to the Google Pay app for iOS and Android platforms.

With the new booking feature in the Google Pay app, users can now browse and search the train timings and options available and can further book or cancel tickets through their IRCTC account within the app. Google claims the experience of this booking process to be fast and intuitive without any hassle. Users can further check the details like seat availability, journey duration and travel times between the respective stations as well. With Google Pay, users can now book or cancel the train tickets without any extra charges or whatsoever.

Currently, with Google Pay, users have been able to send money, pay bills and pay to the merchants and also were able to make cab or bus bookings and with this new train booking, Google seems to be approaching in the right direction for the Indian consumers and encourage them to have a more reliable user experience. If you are planning to travel by train in sometime soon head over to your smartphones’ App Store or Play Store and update the Google Pay app right away.
