As announced earlier, HMD Global today launched the Nokia 5.1 Plus smartphone in India. The Nokia 5.1 Plus is priced very aggressively at Rs 10,999. It will be available exclusively on Flipkart starting October 1st. On the design front, the Nokia 5.1 Plus with notch display looks similar to the previously launched Nokia 6.1 Plus. It comes with a 2.5D curved glass back body with glossy finish frame.
On the front, the device sports 5.8-inch notch display with HD+ (1520 x 720 pixels) resolution and 19:9 aspect ratio. It is powered by the MediaTek Helio P60 octa-core processor clocked at 2.0GHz. The device packs 3GB of RAM and 32GB of internal storage. There is also a MicroSD card slot for further expansion of storage up to 400GB. Though it comes with a rear-facing fingerprint sensor, the Nokia 5.1 Plus also supports face unlock feature.
In terms of optics, the Nokia 5.1 Plus sports 13MP + 5MP dual rear cameras with f/2.0 aperture and an 8MP front-facing camera with f/2.2 aperture. It runs on Android 8.1 Oreo out of the box and should get the Android 9.0 Pie update very soon. Just like other smartphones from HMD Global, the new Nokia 5.1 Plus is also an Android One device. The device kept powered on by a 3,060mAh non-removable battery and that supports 5V/2A power input.
Unlike many other Chinese brands, HMD Global has opted for the USB Type-C for its latest budget smartphone. Connectivity options include 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.2, GPS, 3.5mm audio jack, and a USB Type-C port.
