MTS is not a name that you might head about, but the company has released its new device called as Smart Surf 2 4G. MTS has launched few devices earlier called as MTS M50 Grand, MTS N800 MTS Blaze 5.0, MTS Blaze 4.5 and MTS MTag 353 which are affordable devices but hasn’t got any recognition in the market. Smart Surf 2 will be the successor of Smart Surf which was launched earlier and comes with some improved specifications.
The Smart Surf 2 comes with a 5-inch HD (720 x 1280 pixels) S-IPS capacitive touch screen display with a multi-touch option. Under the hood, there is a Quad-core MediaTek MT6737M processor with a clocking speed of 1.3GHz coupled with 1GB RAM and Mali-T720 GPU. There is an onboard memory of 8GB which can be extended upto a maximum of 32GB via microSD card slot.
On the back, there is a Li-Polymer 2400 mAh battery on the back to power the device and the device supports 4G LTE connectivity with the cat. 4 150/50 Mbit / s HSDPA, HSUPA and EDGE. There is support for other connectivity bands like 3, 7, 20, 38 for LTE. There is a 5MP autofocus sensor on the rear with LED flash which is accompanied with 2MP camera on the front for video calling and selfies.
Out of the box the device comes with Android 6.0 Marshmallow and has connectivity options like Bluetooth v4.0, Wi-Fi 802 b/g/n, GPS, A-GPS and 3.5mm audio jack. The device weights 165 grams and measures 143 mm x 72 mm x 9 mm. The pricing of the device is 5000 rubles (approx $78) and will compete against many other budget segment devices like Lenovo A2010, Micromax Canvas A1, Samsung Tizen Z3. Infocus M260, Xolo Era 4G, Asus Zenfone Go and Lava P7
