Lenovo Phab 2 Plus with 13MP Dual Rear Cameras & 4,050 mAh battery launched in India

Lenovo launched the Phab Plus smartphones last year around the same time by the end of the year. The smartphone was known for it’s AR mode in the camera app. It was indeed a huge device with a decent set of specs to back it up. It had a 6.8″ display on the front, which is too big to be called a smartphone and mostly should be considered as a tablet. It was powered by a mid-ranged SoC and was running Android 5.0 Lollipop out of the box. Well, despite having the AR mode for which it was known for, it didn’t become popular among the masses. And now a year later, the company has decided to launch its successor in the Indian market. Yes, Lenovo has launched the Phab 2 Plus smartphone here at an event in Delhi, India. Do make a note that this smartphone was already launched in the U.S. back in the month of June. Hence it is not alien to us. We just have to wait and see how it does here in a market like India for the price at which it is being offered. Now let’s take a look at the specs of the device and see if it is any good after all.

The Lenovo Phab 2 Plus comes with a 6.4″ display on the front with a resolution of 1080 x 1920 pixels. The phablet has an aluminum alloy built, and there is a 2.5D curved glass on the front on top of the display. It is powered by a MediaTek MTK8783 Octa-core processor which is coupled with 3GB of RAM and 32GB of internal storage. The storage is expandable via a microSD card as well upto 128GB. This single SIM device is kept powered by a 4,050 mAh battery which should be good enough to keep it powered throughout the day without any issues. Now talking about the camera of the device, this is where things are a little interesting. Do make a note that the Phab 2 Plus camera only allows users to take photos and create a video with some superimposed effects and allows you to maybe change the background, etc. It is by no means similar to the Phab 2 Pro’s camera. The Phab 2 Pro is a Tango-enabled smartphone which is a Google’s project. The Phab 2 Pro smartphone has far better specs than this one. It is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 652 SoC and packs 4GB of RAM with 64GB of internal storage. Now talking about the availability of this smartphone, it will be available in Champagne Gold and Gunmetal Grey colors, exclusively via Amazon India and will be retailing for 14,999 INR starting today.
