Microsoft to Launch Surface Pro 4 in India in January 2016 – Satya Nadella

The Microsoft’s “Future Unleashed” Event had gone live with the keynotes to be delivered by Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella and Scott Guthrie, Executive VP of Microsoft. The event will be held for a span of two days where the first day is called ‘The Business Day’ and second day as ‘The Technical Day.’ We had seen a few prototypes of the Microsoft 950 Smartphone before the event & were expecting the announcements regarding only Lumia 950 & Lumia 950 XL, but we are going to see some surprises from the company.

Microsoft spoke a lot about the innovations, developments along with the progress plans of Smart cities in India. Satya Nadella, CEO of Microsoft also gave away some insights on the phone he uses that was the iPhone that comes with a suite of Microsoft applications, along with the 950 XL. Satya had finally announced that from the recently announced devices, they would be bringing the Surface Pro 4 in India, in the month of January 2016, while there is no information mentioned about the other products.

Considering the pricing of USD 899.00 (INR 60,000) we expect the product to be priced around the same, though not adding any customs or shipment that clearly make this product one of the highly priced tablets in India.

The Surface Pro 4 is the fourth generation Surface tablet that measures the same size as Surface Pro 3 but features a slightly larger 12.3-inch display thanks to the thinner bezels. It comes with the hybrid liquid cooling system that takes care of the heat generated while using the tablet. It was available in five different variants with RAM ranging from 4GB to a whopping 16GB, and it can be powered by the 6th Gen Intel m3 processor or the latest 6th Gen Intel i5 / i7 processors and that all depends on your configuration.

The tablet also includes a detachable keyboard along with the newly introduced Surface Pen. The massive tablet is built into the Magnesium case. Talking about the storage, the tablet can be configured to equip SSD ranging from a minimum of 128GB to 1TB. With these massive configurations, Microsoft hasn’t left out the camera department. It comes with an 8MP rear-facing camera and a 5MP front-facing camera for Selfies and video calls.

The 39Wh battery on this tablet can give up to 9 hours of video playback as mentioned by the company. As of now we don’t expect the company to offers the same configurations in India but we cannot confirm it until we have an official confirmation. While there is no information regarding the pricing, one can be sure that this will not be priced similarly to any other Android tablet available in the market.
