Officially Launched
Micromax Canvas Knight 2 with 4G, Snapdragon 615 launched in India for Rs. 16299

The successful Canvas Knight smartphone from Micromax now has a successor, as Micromax announces Canvas Knight 2 smartphone with an AMOLED display, and the phone is priced at Rs. 16299. This is a 4G LTE enabled device, and there’s an offer bundled along for those who purchase it – Free 4G SIM from Airtel with Double Data offer, which doubles the 4G data amount for any consumer who activates the 4G SIM.
Interestingly, both the SIM cards in Canvas Knight 2 will support 4G connectivity. While it is good at connectivity, there is a good overall spec list for the device. The 5-inch screen has a HD resolution display, and it gets the Corning Gorilla Glass 3 protection. Internally, the smartphone is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 615 processor (Octa-core chipset, 1.5GHz clocking speed), along with 2GB DDR3 RAM, and there is 16GB internal storage, and a MicroSD card slot with storage expansion of up to 32GB.
On the back of the phone, there is a 13-megapixel Sony IMX214 CMOS camera sensor, with a 5P lens from Largan, and for selfies and video calls, the phone has a 5-megapixel Omnivision OV5648 camera sensor with the same 5P lens from Largan. Also, this device has a metallic frame and a glass body.
The smartphone seems to have got an enhancement for audio output as well, as there is a Cirrus Logic Wolfs Stereo WM8998 audio, and the good design might come at a cost of battery life, as the Canvas Knight 2 has a 2260 mAh battery, which the company claims to give a 7 hour 45 minutes of talk time, and 335 hours of standby time. Micromax doesn’t have its custom interface for the devices, but there are a few apps pre-installed apart from the Google apps set – CleanMaster, Apps Center, Snapdeal, SwiftKey, Chaatz, Newshunt, Quikr, and Hotstar.
The Canvas Knight 2 goes on sale from June 10th, and the company is looking to bring in more 4G smartphones in the near future.
