Meizu is rumored to launch the new variant of Pro 6 powered by Exynos 8890 octa-core processor. While its original Pro 6 was also said to launch with the Exynos processor but somehow the company had opted for the Helio X25 deca-core processor which is an enhanced variant of Helio X20. The Samsung Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge are also powered by the same Exynos 8890 chipset.

It also sports the curved display inspired by the Edge display on the Samsung devices. Vivo also introduced the curved display with Vivo XPlay 5, world’s first 6GB RAM smartphone. The device features an AMOLED display with Full HD (1920 x 1080 pixels) resolution. While the Pro 6 came with 3D Touch support, it will be interesting to see how Meizu uses both the 3D Touch and the curved display.

The other specifications are expected to be same as on Helio X25 powered Pro 6. This is not the first we are Meizu smartphone launching with Exynos processor, last year’s Pro 5 came with Exynos 7420 chipset which is the same processor powering the 2015 launched Samsung Galaxy S6, Galaxy S6 Edge, and Galaxy Note 5. Even before to Pro 5, Meizu has launched few devices with Samsung processors.

The device might come with Android 6.0 Marshmallow based FlymeOS out-of-the-box. It includes 21.1MP rear camera with ring-shaped flash with 10 LEDs and a 5MP front-facing camera for selfies. While they are rumors about 6GB RAM device from Meizu but the Exynos 8890 powered Pro 6 is said to launch only with 4GB of RAM along with 64GB of internal storage.

According to the Weibo post, the Exynos 8890 powered variant with 4GB RAM will be priced at 3,000 Yuan (approx $460 / Rs. 30,700) which is slightly higher than the 2,800 Yuan (approx $430 / Rs. 28,700) price tag of Pro 6 with Helio X25 SoC. While there is no official announcement from the company, take this with a pinch of salt unless there is a confirmed source. Stay tuned for more updates!
