Li Nan, VP of Meizu has officially announced their latest flagship smartphone, the Meizu MX5 in an event held in New Delhi. The device is priced at Rs.19,999 and will be exclusively available only on Snapdeal. The device was earlier launched in China on June 30 for a price of $290 for the 16GB variant. The device feels premium in hand with the all-metal build body.
The device sports a 5.5-inch Full HD (1920×1080) Super AMOLED display with a pixel density of 401ppi and a Gorilla Glass 3 protection on top if it. Under the hood is a 64-bit Helio X10 octa-core processor from MediaTek and supported by PowerVR G6200 GPU. There is 3GB of RAM and 16GB internal storage. The Mediatek Helio X10 MT6795 is one of the most powerful MediaTek chipsets, it works on the big.LITTLE architecture and is clocked at 2.3GHz.
The Meizu MX5 features a 20.7-megapixel camera made by Sony along with dual LED flash, on the front it packs a 5-megapixel camera that can record videos in Full HD resolution. It is packed with a 3,150mAh battery that can give upto 14 hours of talk time and can last up to 340 hours on standby. The device runs on Android 5.0 Lollipop based Flyme UI.
The device includes mCharge 2.0 which can give 25% of battery life in just 10 minutes. It is dual SIM device with dual standby support and includes 4G LTE connectivity on both SIMs. For better security on this device, Meizu included the Fingerprint scanner integrated in to the large oval shaped Home button.
Connectivity on this device includes 4G LTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac, Wi-Fi Direct, Bluetooth 4.1 LE, GPS/A-GPS, and microUSB 2.0. The device measures 146 x 74.6 x 7.6 mm and weighs 149 grams. It also has another variant which comes with 32GB of internal storage but the company hasn’t mentioned about this varinat. The first sale of the device will happen at 2PM today on Snapdeal.
