Meizu M2 with HD Display and 5MP Selfie Camera Launched in India at Rs.6,999

Chinese smartphone manufacturer, Meizu was rumored to enter the U.S market by launching the ‘Meizu Pro’ in 2016. The company is also looking to launch the Meizu Pro 5 in early 2016 in the Indian smartphone market. As rumors suggested, today the company had launched the entry-level smartphone ‘Meizu M2‘ in India for just Rs.6,999. It is the direct successor for Meizu M1 that was launched earlier this year in China. The design of this device is mostly borrowed from the bigger sized M2 Note. The Meizu M2 was earlier launched in July this year in China for 599 Yuan.

The Meizu M2 sports some impressive specifications at such a low price. It has a 5-inch HD (1280 x 720) IPS display with a pixel density of 296ppi. With Dragontrail protective glass laid on top, the display is protected from shatters and scratches. Under the hood is the 64-bit MediaTek MT6735 quad-core processor clocked at 1.3GHz coupled with Mali T720 GPU and 2GB of LPDDR3 RAM.

There is 16GB of internal storage along with MicroSD card slot for storage expansion up to 128GB. On the camera front, it has a 13MP rear camera with f/2.2 aperture and an LED flash, on the front it comes with a 5MP selfie camera with f/2.0 aperture and Face AE face light boost that makes the display of the device work as a flash.

The 2,500mAh battery on this device can offer up to 23 hours of talk time and can last up to 680 hours on standby. The device supports dual SIM dual standby with the hybrid SIM slot where you can add a microSD card instead of one SIM.

Below the display we can find the oval shaped home button called as mBack and on the back, it has has a plastic back cover with rounded edges. It runs on Android 5.1 Lollipop based Meizu’s Flyme OS 4.5. The devices weigh just 131 grams and measures 8.7mm thick.

Connectivity on the device includes 4G LTE, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.0, GPS/A-GPS, and MicroUSB 2.0. It will be available in the colors White, Silver, Blue, and Pink. The pre-orders for the first sale will be starting from today, and the sale starts from October 12th exclusively on Snapdeal.
