Coolpad had earlier launched the Dazen brand of smartphones Dazen 1 and Dazen X7 in India. In December 2014, the company in partnership with Qihoo 360 has launched the Dazen brand of smartphones in China. Today the company has launched a new smartphone called ‘Coolpad Note 3‘ India at just Rs.8,999. This is the same smartphone that was launched in China as ‘Coolpad Dazen Note 3‘ with little modifications in specifications. The reason behind the name change is that the both the companies have parted away from the joint venture and the Dazen brand of smartphones will be no more.

Dr. Luo Zhongsheng, VP of Coolpad said, Coolpad has sold more than 40 million smartphones in 2014 with over 3 billion in revenues. The company is also looking to set up an R&D team in India. As of now the company has a team of 50 members in India. Talking about the device, it comes with the hardware that no other device at the same price range can match with the Note 3. It has a 5.5-inch HD (1280×720) IPS Display and is powered by a 64-bit MediaTek MT6753 octa-core processor clocked at 1.3GHz.

It comes with 3GB of RAM, 16GB of  onboard storage and can be further expandable via a microSD card up to 64GB. Coming to the camera, it has a 13MP rear camera with LED flash and an aperture of f/2.0, for the selfie there is a 5MP front-facing camera.

At this price range, the company has some managed to integrate the fingerprint sensor  for making the device secure. This is the most affordable smartphone with fingerprint sensor to launch in India. It has a Li-Po battery of 3,000mAh capacity that can offer up to 15 hours of talk time and can last up to 240 hours on standby.

It will be exclusively sold through Amazon India and registrations had started today, and the sale begins from October 20th.
