Meizu has already confirmed to launch the Meizu 16s as its 2019 flagship smartphone. While the device with the model number M971Q was recently certified by TENAA, the newly leaked press renders gives a much clearer picture of the device. As seen in the earlier leaked images, the Meizu 16s will be coming with a curved glossy finish body. Till date, we have only seen the device in Black and White colors. Just like the other Chinese brands, Meizu might also offer a gradine color option.
The device might come with a glass back body with Aluminum frame. On the front, the device comes with a notchless display with rounded edges. However, the bezels on the Meizu 16s are very minimal. On the top bezel, we can spot the selfie camera and the earpiece. There is a dual camera setup along with ring LED flash on the rear of the device. The previously leaked image shown the power button and volume rocker on the right edge. Apart from teasing the device, the company hasn’t yet revealed the launch date.
We expect the company to launch the Meizu 16s smartphone in early May. Talking about the specifications, the device comes with a 6.2-inch Super AMOLED display with Full HD+ (2232 x 1080 pixels) resolution with 18.5:9 aspect ratio. It will be powered by the 7nm Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 Mobile Platform clocked at 2.84GHz. It comes coupled with Kryo 485 CPU and Adreno 640 GPU. The Meizu 16s packs 8GB of RAM and might come in 128GB and 256GB storage options.
However, the TENAA listing also confirmed the device will miss out the MicroSD card slot. In terms of optics, we might be looking at a 48MP + 20MP dual rear cameras and a 20MP single selfie camera. It will also offer an in-display fingerprint scanner and supports face unlock. The device runs on Android 9.0 Pie based Flyme OS out of the box. It will be backed by a 3,540mAh battery and supports 24W fast charging support. Connectivity options include 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi (2.4GHz + 5GHz), Bluetooth 5, GPS, and USB Type-C.
