Recently, the Huawei Y6 Pro 2019 and Huawei Y6 2019 smartphones are spotted on the company’s website. Both these devices come with an HD+ waterdrop notch display and are powered by MediaTek Helio A22 chipset. Now, a new Huawei smartphone called Huawei Y5 2019 was spotted online with the same Helio A22 chipset. This new device will be the successor to last year’s Huawei Y5 2018 which came with a 5.45-inch HD+ display with 18:9 aspect ratio and Mediatek MT6739 quad-core processor.
Since the 2018 Huawei Y5 was launched as an Android Go device, we also expect the Y5 2019 to be running on Android Go OS. However, the device is not yet officially confirmed to be launched as an Android Go smartphone. If the device comes with Android Go OS, then the Huawei Y5 2019 powered by the 12nm MediaTek Helio A22 clocked at 2.0 GHz could be the most powerful Android Go smartphone available in the market. Until now, we have only seen manufacturers launching the Android Go devices with old-gen chipsets.
Based on the leaked information, the device will be coming with 2GB of RAM. On the storage front, we can only expect it to offer a maximum of 32GB. There will be a MicroSD card for further expansion of storage on this device. It is also mentioned to come with HD+ (1520 x 720 pixels) display with 19:9 aspect ratio and waterdrop notch on the top. The device will be running on Android 9.0 Pie out of the box. From the above featured image, we can see all the EMUI apps on the home screen of the device.
Even though Samsung launched the Android Go device with TouchWiz UI, it didn’t include all the in-house apps. Based on the image, we can’t confirm the device will be launched as an Android Go device. However, stay tuned for the official launch of the Huawei Y5 2019 to know about the complete details of the device including the specifications, pricing, and availability. The recently launched Huawei Y6 2019 came with a 6.09-inch HD+ (1560 x 720 pixels) display and is powered by the same MediaTek Helio A22 12nm processor
It offered 2GB RAM and 32GB of expandable storage. In terms of optics, the Y6 2019 comes with the 13MP single rear camera with f/1.8 aperture and an 8MP front-facing camera with f/2.0 aperture. It is backed by a 3,020mAh non-removable battery and comes with standard 5V/2A (10W) power adapter. While there is no fingerprint scanner on this device, it supports face unlock for secure unlocking.
