Louis Vuitton Launches The New Tambour Horizon Smartwatch, Prices Starts At $2,450

Android Wear smartwatches or even smartwatches, in general, are not dead yet. Apple Watch is a living example of that and its popularity is simply growing day-by-day. And now the luxury fashion brand, Louis Vuitton has also decided get into the rat race of bringing their own version of Android Wear smartwatch on the market. And yes, just as you would expect, it is expensive and is probably way out of your budget.

Louis Vuitton is certainly one of those brands, that needs no introduction whatsoever. And the fact that it has now decided to launch a new Android Wear watch is also not surprising at all since a handful of other fashion brands have already done it and in fact, Louis Vuitton is a little late to the party. The company has now launched a new smartwatch called the Tambour Horizon and it runs on the latest version of Android Wear i.e. Android Wear 2.0 out of the box.

Although people who would be interested in buying this won’t really care about specs since it is more of an accessory to make a fashion statement, the watch fully decked out with the latest hardware. It has a 1.2-inch 390×390 round AMOLED touchscreen on the front, just like any other watch would have. Internally, it is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon Wear 2100 chipset with 512MB RAM and 4GB of internal storage. There is also a 300 mAh battery keeping the lights on this watch.

It has a 42mm case and it is 12.55mm thick. Being a fashion brand, Louis Vuitton is offering a ton of detachable straps for the watch, in fact, 60 to be precise. And for the price which you are paying, you will be getting a sapphire glass on the display and the back of the watch. In terms of the software, Louis Vuitton has added two apps of its own called My Flight and City Guide. The My Flight app lets you have all your air travel info in one place. The City Guide, on the other hand, provides LV-approved tips and recommendations of a given place, based on your location.

Now coming to the pricing, the entry-level model with a stainless steel casing of the Tambour Horizon is priced at $2,450. There is also a black variant of the same and if you are willing to purchase that, then you need to shed a little more money since it costs $2,900. As mentioned earlier, this is certainly not for an average user, however, if you want the absolute best of what the fashion industry has to offer, then this could be one to snag right away.
