AT&T and Verizon are the only carriers who will be selling the LG Watch Sport in the U.S. It will be on sale starting from February 10th, and the Google is selling it via Google Store for $349. Verizon will be selling this new Android Wear 2.0 powered smartwatch for an outright price of $380. With the 2-year contract agreement, the price comes down to $330. Apart from the LG Watch Sport, Verizon has its own Android Wear 2.0 powered smartwatch called Wear24. However, more information will be known next month when it will be on sale for $299 under two years contract. It is slightly cheaper than the $330 price tag of LG Watch Sport.
The lack of the big brand certainly makes the Wear24 to cost less than the Watch Sport. Just like Watch Sport, the Wear24 also supports 4G LTE connectivity. Just like any other modern smartwatch, it also includes several watch faces. To differentiate it from other smartwatches, the watch faces on the Wear24 automatically changes the information shown on display according to the location. With the latest Android Wear 2.0 OS, the Wear24 comes with Google Assistant and also the Play Store. The user can make calls and send text messages directly from the smartwatch.
The 1.39-inch AMOLED display is fitted into the metal casing. The processor, RAM, and storage are not yet available. While the LG Watch Sport comes with IP68 certification, the Wear24 has IP67 certification, same as the LG Watch Style, it can stay upto 3.3 feet under water for 30 minutes. The Wear24 is backed by a 450mAh battery and might support wireless charging as well. The LG Watch Sport came with connectivity options like 4G LTE, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.1, and NFC. While the Wear24 is confirmed to come with 4G LTE, it also include NFC for enabling the Android Pay payments.
It comes with the circular display sporting a power button on that might be rotatable. Unlike the LG Watch Sport, the Wear24 might come with user replaceable watch straps. The circular dial comes with 42mm diameter and measures 13.5mm thickness. Since Verizon handles the software support for both the LG Watch Sport and Wear24, we don’t think there will be much difference. As the Wear24 will be announced next month in the U.S, we will be updating with the complete details. stay tuned on Phoneradar for more details!
