The LG G6 is one of the most anticipated smartphones of the year alongside the Samsung‘s Galaxy S8. Both of them are scheduled to launch over the next couple of months, and we can’t wait to see what each of them will have to offer with their new flagships. While we have a lot of info about both smartphones to have an idea of what we should expect, a new report has just popped up which confirms a very interesting move by LG for the G6. It looks like LG G6 will be powered by the Snapdragon 821 SoC instead of the Snapdragon 835 as it was expected.

According to the image leaked by the source, LG is going to stick to the Snapdragon 821 SoC instead of Snapdragon 835 for the upcoming G6 smartphone, which is a very interesting move. As we all know that Samsung is mass-producing the Snapdragon 835 SoC for Qualcomm this time around. And since Samsung is manufacturing them, it has been reported that the company will be using the Soc for its upcoming Galaxy S8. And judging by the estimated sales of the upcoming Galaxy, it certainly looks like the Snapdragon 835 will have quite a demand. And hence if LG wishes to use the 835 for G6, then it will have to hold on to the release of the smartphone for a couple of months, and same is the case for any manufacturer willing to opt in for the Snapdragon 835 SoC.

Considering the fact that the Galaxy S8 & the S8 Plus are in for a huge launch with a bunch of new changes, delaying the G6 doesn’t make any sense if LG doesn’t want to miss out on having an edge over the S8 with an early launch. Although the processor is as important as any other internal component, most people just want a fast enough device to carry out their day-to-day tasks without any difficulty & the 821 is proven to be capable of delivering that. Hence LG’s decision of going for the 821 instead of 835 does make a lot of sense after all.

Having said that, the LG G6 is expected to bring a lot of changes this time around. The company is ditching the modular design from the G5 and going for a more simpler design. The front is where all the magic seems to happen since it is expected that G6 will sport an almost bezel-less display called the ‘FuLL Vision. The leaked image also shows that the LG G6 will feature a rear-mounted fingerprint sensor along with dust and water-resistance. For audiophiles, the G6 will come with a quad DAC as well. Hence the fact that G6 being powered by a slightly older SoC as compared to the Galaxy S8 doesn’t make it any less interesting. With that said, let us know what do you think about the LG G6 and would you be interested in purchasing one.
