LG had partnered with Reliance Retail to sell the VoLTE (Voice over LTE) and VoWiFi (Voice over WiFi) based smartphones in India. The first set of the devices to launch under this new partnership are the LG G4 Stylus 4G and LG Spirit LTE. Reliance Jio, which is also part of Reliance group, is all set to launch its 4G services in India in the next few months. We can see this as a strategic partnership to make the devices available in the market that offer VoLTE and VoWiFi, which are said to be launched by Reliance Jio.

Speaking on the occasion, Amit Gujral, Head Marketing of LG Mobiles India said, “With the launch of LG Spirit LTE and the LG G4 Stylus 4G we once again prove our commitment to bringing the best in class products and experiences to our customers. These new devices are a must have for all those who want to take advantage of the 4G network. With Reliance Retail as our partner, and given its extensive network across the country we are sure that existing LG loyalists and potential LG customers who want the best will be able to own these futuristic gadgets in outlets near them.”

With the VoLTE and VoWiFi, the users can make voice calls directly through LTE or WiFi connection. The VoLTE consumes 3X data capacity compared to 3G network and upto 6X when compared to 2G network. Until now, Airtel is the only provider to offers 4G LTE in India while Vodafone and Idea are set to offers sometime in 2016. Unlike Airtel, Reliance Jio offers VoLTE and VoWiFi, which can set new standards in India.

Talking about the devices, the LG G4 stylus article comes with 5.7-inch HD display and is powered by Snapdragon 410 quad-core processor. It has 1GB of RAM and 16GB of internal storage along with a MicroSD card support. The device includes 13MP rear camera with laser autofocus, a 5MP front-facing camera, and a 3,000 battery. LG has also included few productivity apps that can make use of the stylus.

LG Spirit LTE comes with a smaller 4.7-inch HD display and is powered by 1.3GHz quad-core processor. It has 1GB of RAM same as on G4 Stylus, but the internal storage is limited to 8GB. On the camera front, we can find an 8MP rear camera and a 5MP front camera. Both the devices supports dual SIM dual standby and offers 4G LTE connectivity as mentioned earlier.

While the device will be available at all the Reliance retail stores in the next few days, there is no information regarding the pricing. Earlier to this, Reliance retail also announced LYF branded smartphones that come with 4G LTE connectivity and will be affordable priced to make compete with the already crowded entry-level segment.
