LG Says its Next Flagship Smartphone (LG G7?) is on Schedule

Earlier today, Samsung has shared the invite for the 2018 Unpacked event scheduled for February 25th in Barcelona. Sony is also reportedly coming with their next-gen flagship Android smartphone at the upcoming MWC 2018. However, there are a few rumors hinting LG and Huawei might postpone their flagship phone launches to a later date due to the Galaxy S9 launch. LG came up with a statement confirming their next flagship smartphone is on schedule.

The company hasn’t mentioned the name of the device, but it should be the LG G7, the successor to last year’s LG G6. On the other hand, we are yet to hear the official announcement from Huawei. At the CES 2018 held earlier this month in Las Vegas, the Huawei launched the Mate 10 Pro smartphone in the U.S market. Talking about the upcoming LG smartphone, we mostly expect the company to launch the LG G7 as the successor to last year’s LG G6.

While the LG G6 came with an older Snapdragon 821 SoC instead of the then-latest Snapdragon 835 SoC, we hope to see the perfect LG flagship device this year. Though the company said its next flagship smartphone is on Schedule, it hasn’t mentioned that it will be unveiled at the MWC 2018. Since the Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 will be initially exclusive to Samsung, LG might unveil its 2018 flagship smartphone a few weeks after the MWC.

The device will also feature the improved POLED display with Quad HD+ resolution. Though the company might shrink down the size of the bezels, we don’t think it will offer iPhone X like all-screen display. The device will be coming with the dual camera setup on the rear. It should include the latest version of Android Oreo with LG UX UI on top. Since the MWC 2018 is just a few weeks away, we will be getting more details about the LG’s 2018 flagship smartphone in the coming weeks.
