Last week, LG had debuted the Russian market by launching a new mid-range smartphone ‘LG Ray.’ Today the company had announced the device to be launched in the CIS region by the end of this week followed by Latin America and other global 3G markets. The company hasn’t mentioned the pricing of the device in the global markets, but it is priced at of 14990 Rubles (approx $232 / Rs. 15,200).
Juno Cho, CEO of LG Mobiles said, “Customers in 3G markets continue to be a priority for LG so we will continue to develop new products with these consumers in mind.” He also added “no matter the country or the device, every LG customers will receive a unique user experience with a balance of design, performance and value.”
It comes with a large 5.5-inch display with 720p resolution, this is the same display that was seen earlier on LG G4 Stylus. Under the hood is the 1.4 GHz MediaTek MT6592M octa-core processor along with 1GB of RAM. There is 16GB of internal storage that can be expandable up to 32GB. It runs 0n LG UX UI overlaid on top of Android 5.1 Lollipop.
The LG Ray follows the design of the previous LG devices with the power button and volume rockers placed on the rear of the device. It has a 3,000mAh removable battery that can offer at least a single day of usage. Talking about the camera, it comes with a 13MP primary shooter with LED flash and an 8MP selfie camera on the front.
It will be available in single SIM and dual SIM variants, and worthy to mention that the device lacks 4G LTE connectivity. Connectivity options are limited to 3G, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.0, GPS, and MicroUSB 2.0. The device measures 9.3mm thick and weigh 158 grams. It comes in Silver, Gold, and Titan Black colors while the Gold and Titan Black variants will be available only from January 2016. Stay tuned for more updates!
