LG is a well-known electronic manufacturer paved its way to smartphone industry by launching a wide variety of devices. It even collaborated with Google and released LG Nexus 4, LG Nexus 5 and latest LG Nexus 5x smartphones. Apart from the collaboration with Google, it also released its own devices with which it grabbed the attention of many Android lovers. By equipping latest technologies in the devices, LG always set the price of the product at an affordable cost.
The users who bought LG Nexus 5 seem to be very satisfied with the device. But just like all other Android devices, it also showcased few issues with which few users are disappointed. Well, we made few workouts on the issues that are being highlighted on the device and able to find solutions for them. So, as of now, just relax and go through the below solutions to fix your issues.
- Battery-draining and Slow Charging Issue
- Lag in Performance
- Phone is not working properly
- Over-heating Issue
- Issue after Marshmallow Update
- Camera is not working
- Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and Data Connections issue
Problem – The most common issue that is keep troubling all the Android users is battery draining. Same is the case with LG Nexus 5 smartphone as many users reported about the issue. So, we made few workouts with which you can overcome this issue.
Solution – First and foremost thing to remember is always to make sure to use original battery charger for charging the device. Also, never attempt to charge the battery via laptop or PC as it will slow down the process of charging as swapping occurs.
Next, try to remove the battery-draining apps from the device. So, double check the apps that are downloaded by you and uninstall the apps that are causing the battery-draining issue. Also, try to avoid the usage of widgets and live wallpapers as they will consume more amount of battery by over-loading the processor.
Problem – Another issue that is troubling the users is Lag in the device performance after using the phone for few months. Well, this is also a common issue that is seen in many Android devices.
Solution – To reduce the lag issue, users need to perform several tasks. First of all, enable the developer options on the device by tapping 7 times on the ‘Build number’ option under ‘Settings>About Phone’. Now, you can see these options under the device settings and so open them and find out animation scale options which are Window Animation Scale, Transition Animation Scale, and Animator duration scale. Now, turn these options off or reduce them to 0.5x so as to improve the device performance.
Next, to avoid the lag issue, you need to clear cache from the apps and device. For removing app cache, open each app from the app manager and tap on ‘Clear Cache’ button. For wipe cache partition, you have to turn on the device into recovery mode. For that, turn off the device and press Volume Down and UP buttons along with the power button simultaneously at the same time until the phone turns ON. Next, highlight the ‘Recovery’ by pressing the Volume Down button two times. Use power button to start the ‘Recovery Mode’ where you will see the Android robot image with red exclamation mark. Now, keep holding the power button and then press and release the volume up button. That’s all; now you have to select and confirm ‘wipe cache partition’ using volume and power buttons. Once the process is done, go for ‘Reboot System Now’.
By now, the device should be free from the lag issue and if not perform the factory reset as a last option. But before proceeding with this process, take a prior back up of the data present in the phone as it will erase everything from the device. Once the backup is taken, turn off the device and get into recovery mode as explained above. In here select and confirm, ‘wipe data/factory reset’ and ‘Yes – delete all user data.’ The same process can be done by opening, ‘Settings>Backup & Reset> Factory Data Reset>Reset Phone>Erase Everything’. That’s all; now your device should be completely free from the lag issue.
Problem – Few users reported that their device is not functioning properly after the software update. Well, there may be few reasons behind this and by performing few workouts one can easily sort this issue out.
Solution – At first, try to clear the entire cache from the apps and device as explained in the above solution. And sometimes, the problem may occur due to the third-party app, and so you need to make sure of that by getting your device into safe mode. This can be done by long-pressing the power button and then long-tap on power off option which will make the device enter into safe mode. In here, third-party apps will not work and so use the device for few minutes to find out the solution. If the device is free from the issue, then the problem is with the installed app. So, now reboot the phone again to get into the normal mode and find out the problem-causing app and uninstall it.
Even if the issue is not resolved, then perform the factory reset of the phone as explained in the above solution.
Problem – Few users reported about the over-heating issue, and this is also a most common issue we have seen so far in all the Android devices. So, by performing few workouts, users can resolve the issue easily.
Solution – Always make sure that original battery charger is used while charging the device and do not use the phone while plugged-in for charging. Also, uninstall all the battery-draining apps from the device as they may cause the over-heating issue.
Clear the cache of the apps and device as explained in the solution 2 and even then the problem persists, follow the steps in solution 2 to perform the factory reset.
Problem – Few users seem to face the lag and few other issues on their device after updating it with Marshmallow. Well, this is not happening in all the devices as it is being reported only by few users.
Solution – First of all make sure that you have updated the device with the official release of Marshmallow update. If that is perfect, then perform the factory reset of the phone as it will erase this issue. So, follow the procedure in Solution 2 for factory reset and do remember to take a prior backup before proceeding.
Problem – Only a few users reported about the camera issue and by performing simple workouts, one can resolve this issue easily.
Solution – First of all, open the camera app from the settings and tap on ‘Clear Cache’ button. If the camera isn’t responding well, then use third-party camera apps instead of the stock camera which will resolve your issue.
Problem – Apart from the above problems, there are other minor problems like Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and data connection issues are also seen on the device.
Solution – Try to restart the device and Wi-Fi router and try reconnecting. Also, check the Bluetooth paired devices and remove all the old-paired devices and try pairing the new device from beginning. If the data connection is not responding, then enable the flight mode and disable it after some time. Now, the data connection will get set. By now, the connection issues should have resolved.
Note – By updating the device with the latest available software, users can get the fixes for minor bugs in the device. It also helps in enhancing the performance of the device. So, check for updates under ‘Settings>About Phone,’ if any update is available then download and install the same.
