Lenovo Vibe S1 is Slow? How to Speed up for Better Performance in 5 Minutes

Published

on

Lenovo Vibe S1 is quite impressive with its 3GB RAM and few other good specifications. Lenovo, on the other hand, is been in competition with top most smartphone manufacturers regarding quality and price. As far as we see, Lenovo Vibe P1, Lenovo Vibe K4 note and many other devices have been received good applause from the smartphone lovers.

But, as we talk about Vibe S1, we wish to discuss its performance issues. We have seen many Android devices which raise performance issues just after few months of usage, and it’s like the pretty common on these devices. But, anyhow we have few tips and precautionary measures which when followed will boost up your device and makes it run faster.

Check for Latest Software Update

The 5-inch Vibe S1 device comes up with Android OS 5.0 Lollipop version and well functional features. The manufacturers release few OTA updates for its users using which the device can be upgraded to the newer version which unlocks certain additional functionalities. So, our advice for the Lenovo users is to check for the software updates under the ‘About Phone’ section in the device settings.

If at all, there are any software updates available, then you will be notified with the same and so download and install those updates using WiFi connection as the update files are large. Once the device is upgraded, then all the minor bugs in the phone will get fixed and also the performance of the phone will be increased.

Use Developer Options

By default, ‘Developer Options’ will not be accessible for the users, and so you need to enable those options using a simple procedure. Open ‘Settings>About Phone> Device Information’, now tap few times on the ‘Build number’ option until it enables the ‘Developer Options’. Now come back to settings and you can see these options enabled.

Tap on the options to unlock new extra settings for your device. Also, change the animation settings to 0.5X or disable them completely for faster performance of the phone. Check for other useful options for you and enable them for newer experience and try not to use the options which slow down your device.

Clear App Cache and Uninstall Apps

In every Android device, whenever you open an application, the cache gets stored in the background and occupies some of your device’s storage space. For obvious reasons, users will forget to clear the cache and as a result, the cache increases its size, and it has an indirect effect on the device performance. So, open each app from the ‘App Manager’ and tap on ‘Clear Cache’ to wipe off the cache of apps.

If you are on Android device, then you might have tried various apps from the play store out of which few will be unnecessary. So, we advise you to uninstall all such useless apps from the device and keep it clean. Also, your phone will come with few pre-installed apps among which few are bloatware. So, find out such apps and uninstall them from your device which in turn helps you to speed up your phone.

Disable Widgets

Widgets on the android device are somehow useful for the users, but over-usage of the widgets will make the device run slower than expected, and results in performance issues. So, do not overload your device with many widgets and try to limit the widgets to just one or two (Only if necessary). Our advice is not to use any widgets so as to make your phone faster.

Also, Live Wallpapers should be disabled from your phone as they may also cause an issue with the functionality of the device. Try to use normal wallpapers and screensavers which enhance the look of your device instead of Live Wallpapers.

Wipe Cache Partition and Factory Reset

You can perform this task by turning on your device into recovery mode. It can be done by pressing Volume Up and Power button at the same time, and another way is by pressing the power button (until Lenovo logo appears on the screen) and Volume Up and down button (until you see the menu). Once you are in a recovery mode, you have to scroll up and down using the volume buttons, and you can use power button for confirming the selection. Now, select and confirm ‘Wipe Cache Partition’ and after the completion of the process, select and confirm ‘Reboot System Now’.

Also, you can perform a factory reset on your phone so as to make it fresh and faster. To perform this task, open ‘Settings>System>Backup & reset> Factory data reset’, and continue the process. Also, you can do the same task using the recovery mode as mentioned above where you need to select and confirm the ‘Wipe data/factory reset’ option. But, make sure to take the back up of data before performing this task as it will erase everything from your device.

Few Additional Tips

Follow these simple precautions to enhance the functionality of your phone. Make sure to turn off all the Bluetooth and WiFi connections whenever you are not using them and also do not enable the auto settings for brightness and rotation as you can adjust them manually for better performance. Also, use original chargers for charging the battery as other chargers will affect the battery and performance of the device. Never perform the multi-tasking on the phone, i.e., opening many apps at a time, as it may hang the phone.

If you have any other performance issues with your Lenovo Vibe S1, then feel free to mention them in the comments section as we try to clear them for you.
