Alongside the aggressively priced Lenovo K9 smartphone, the company also launched the entry-level Lenovo A5 smartphone in India today. Just like the all-new Lenovo K9, the Lenovo A5 also comes with an aggressive price tag. The device will be available in 2GB and 3GB RAM variants and will be sold exclusively via Flipkart. While the 2GB RAM variant with 16GB of internal storage is priced at Rs 5,999, the 3GB RAM variant with 32GB of internal storage costs slightly higher at Rs 6,999.
Talking about the build quality, it sports a polycarbonate shell with the matte finish. The Lenovo A5 will available in Black and Fine Gold color options. On the front, the device features 5.45-inch IPS display with HD+ (1440 x 720 pixels) resolution and comes covered by a 2.5D curved glass. Under the hood is the MediaTek MT6739CW quad-core processor clocked at 1.5GHz. As said earlier, the device comes in 2GB/3GB of RAM and 16GB/32GB of internal storage.
Unlike the Lenovo K9, the Lenovo A5 comes with a dedicated MicroSD card. In terms of optics, the device sports a 13MP camera on the rear with LED flash and an 8MP camera on the front for selfies. The device is kept powered on by a 4,000mAh non-removable battery and comes with a 5V/2A (10W) power adapter. Surprisingly, Lenovo decided not to omit the fingerprint sensor. There is a rear-facing fingerprint on the back of the Lenovo A5 and also supports AI-based face unlock.
Both the power button and volume rocker are placed on the right edge. Connectivity options include 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.2, GPS, 3.5mm audio jack, and a MicroUSB 2.0 port. Stay tuned on PhoneRadar for more detials!
