KFC’s 5-in-1 Meal Box is the New Bluetooth Game Controller in India

Back in June last year, KFC introduced the 5-in-1 meal called ‘Watt a Box’ that also packs a power bank. At just Rs 150,  the ‘Watt a Box’ came with the meal to power the humans and a 6,100mAh battery to power the smartphones and other gadgets. However, this pretty deal is only limited to KFC stores in Delhi and Mumbai. Now, the company partnered with Mountain Dew to bring another collectible called ‘Gamers Box 2.0’, the meal box with built-in Bluetooth gaming controller. This limited edition KFC meal box comes with an adjustable slot on the top to hold the smartphone firmly.

Just like the regular gaming controllers, it also has the D-pad, analog stick, other buttons laid on the right and left of game pads. Only 10 units will be made available for the customers, and you have to act fast to get your hands on one of the Gamers Box 2.0. It can be connected to any smartphone running Android 3.2 and above or iOS 7.0 and above using Bluetooth. However, the Gamer Box 2.0 is very big compared traditional gaming controller and can’t be used for on-the-go gaming. With the food inside the box, the Gamer’s Box 2.0 can’t be even used for gaming while filling your stomach.

Just two weeks back, KFC has partnered with China based smartphone manufacturer Huawei to launch the KFC branded smartphone to mark the 30th anniversary of KFC China. It will be available only in 5,000 units and costs 1099 Yuan (approx $163 / Rs. 10,500). The device comes in Red color and has the Colonel Sanders logo on the rear. It comes with a 5-inch HD display and is powered by Snapdragon 425 quad-core processor. It packs 3GB RAM and 32GB of expandable storage. It is backed by a 3,020mAh battery and also sports a fingerprint sensor.

The unique feature of the KFC smartphone is that built-in KFC branded Music app. It is just exclusive to KFC smartphones, and the users will be able to play their own music when visiting any KFC store. Talking about the Gamer’s Box 2.0, check out the social media accounts of KFC India and Mountain Dew to get one of the 10 boxes.
