At the AGM 2017, Reliance Jio announced the 4G VoLTE enabled feature phone called JioPhone. At the AGM this year, the company now announced the JioPhone 2 with QWERTY keyboard. Both the JioPhone and JioPhone 2 will also support Facebook, WhatsApp, and Youtube. The JioPhone will get the earlier mentioned apps via App store starting August 15th. The JioPhone 2 is priced at an introductory price of Rs 2,999 and will be available from August 15th.

Jio also confirmed that JioPhone will also be sold alongside the original JioPhone in India. The JioPhone 2 comes with 2.4-inch QVGA display which is same as the JioPhone, but with 9:16 aspect ratio. Beneath the display is 4-row of QWERTY keyboard and 4-key navigation button. Unlike the original JioPhone, the new JioPhone 2 supports dual SIM. It comes with a 2MP rear camera and a VGA front camera. It runs on KAI OS and packs 512MB of RAM and 4GB of internal storage.

The device also supports VoLTE and VoWiFi, which makes the device future proof.  Other connectivity options include Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, NFC, GPS, FM Radio, 3.5mm audio jack, and a MicroUSB 2.0 port. The JioPhone 2 also has a MicroSD card slot for expanding the storage up to 128GB. It is backed by a 2,000mAh battery that should give more than a day-long usage. It also comes with built-in Google Assistant for using voice commands in English and Hindi.

The JioPhone 2 also got single loudspeaker for playing music out loud. Just like the JioPhone, we also expect some caveats with the JioPhone 2. Stay tuned on PhoneRadar for more details about the JioPhone 2.
