After launching the Zenfone Max Pro M1 with aggressive pricing in India, the company now came up with the flagship Zenfone 5Z smartphone. It was first unveiled at the MWC 2018 and was already made available few other markets. Today, the Asus has officially launched Zenfone 5Z in India. It comes in 6GB + 64GB, 6GB + 128GB, and 6GB + 256GB variants and is priced at Rs 29,999, Rs 32,999, and Rs 36,999 respectively. The device will be sold exclusively via Flipkart and ICICI bank is offering Rs 3,000 flat discount.
It sports a 6.2-inch Full HD+ Super IPS display with 19:9 aspect ratio. The device comes coupled with 10nm Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 Mobile Platform coupled with Kryo 385 CPU and Adreno 630 GPU. With the 19:9 notch display, the device is said to offer 90% screen-to-body ratio. Talking about the camera department, the Zenfone 5z sports 12MP + 8MP dual rear cameras with OIS and EIS. For selfies, there is an 8MP front-facing camera with f/2.0 aperture, 83-degree wide-angle lens, and EIS.
With the Zenfone 5 series, the company also announced several AI-based features like auto scene detection and others. The device will be running on Android 8.0 Oreo out of the box with Zen UI laid on top. It comes with the hybrid SIM card slot for adding a MicroSD card or secondary nano SIM card. It is backed by a 3,300mAh battery and support 18W fast charging. The Zenfone 5Z also sports stereo speakers and three microphones. Additionally, there is also an NXP Smart amplifier and supports DTS Headphone: X for 7.1-channel surround sound.
The company is also including Hi-Res Audio earphones within the package. Connectivity options include Dual 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi (2.4GHz + 5GHz), Bluetooth 5, GPS, 3.5mm audio jack FM Radio, and USB Type-C port. It comes in Midnight Blue and Meteor Silver color options. The device will go on sale starting July 9th.
