Jawbone Up Move – a $50 Fitness Tracker with 6-month Battery Life

Jawbone has finally made an entry-level fitness tracker, that costs $50, and this is called the Jawbone Up Move. This announcement is made alongside the launch of Jawbone UP3, the priciest band from the same company.
Going with the design, it looks no where like a watch, not even like a standard band, but with the functions, it does the tracking with all the sensors included. According to the description in the website:
Get fit, lose weight and have fun doing it. UP MOVE™ comes in a bunch of brilliant colors that you can mix and match with accessories. Clip it on and wear it anywhere. And with an LED display and Smart Coach to guide you, the UP MOVE™ tracker doesn’t just count your steps and track your sleep—it gets you over the hump and moving on your path to a better you.
So, that basically means you have to clip it on to anything, or attach it to a strap. Pressing on the top of Jawbone Up Move would show the progress of steps walked, and twice would show a few LED indications. In the box, Jawbone is including a clip-on belt accessory, but if you wish to use a strap to wear it on your wrist, Jawbone will sell a $15 strap separately.
The bands that were available earlier, were all able to give some vibrations to wake you with the silent alarms, but the Up Move doesn’t do that, because the functions are limited to step counting and sleep tracking, but there is no vibrator included for letting you know if you sat for a long time, or buzz as an alarm.
What’s the best part about the Jawbone Up Move? it’s the coin-cell battery that is known to last for about 6 months, so you don’t have to worry about its battery charging every few days. The battery is user-replaceable.
The Up Move is going to be available in five colors: Black, Blue, Grape, Ruby, and Slate. The available is scheduled for later this month, but for now, it is available for pre-order from 5th November.
