Intex has launched its first 4G enabled smartphone, the Intex Aqua 4G+ with a 5-inch HD display, and some decent specifications, and the device is priced just under the Rs. 10,000 mark, to add one more in the major area where there are a lot of devices competing, most of them having the 4G LTE connectivity.
The smartphone is already available in the market, and it comes with a 5-inch HD display, and a quad-core processor from Mediatek. It is the MT6735 chipset, which is capable of supporting 4G LTE networks. Along with that, is a 2GB of RAM and 16GB internal storage, which can be expanded with the given MicroSD card slot.
The Aqua 4G+ is is said to be running Android 5.0 Lollipop, and it has a Dual SIM capability, though it is unclear whether one SIM card or both support 4G networks. A 13-megapixel camera is located on the back of the phone, while the front has a 5-megapixel shooter. The phone packs in a 2300 mAh battery.
According to Intex, there are a lot of software enhancements done to the device, including some camera filters, a front-rear camera PIP mode and a support for 21 Indian languages, and also a dedicated power saving mode.
Unlike the devices from Yu, Lenovo (the A series) and such, Intex phones are available in the retail market, and thus you’ll see them available at all the major retail offline stores. The color options are White and Black, and the price is Rs. 9499.
If we are to mention some competitors, there is Lenovo A7000, Xiaomi Redmi Note 4G, Huawei Honor 4X, Yu Yuphoria and Xiaomi Redmi 2, with some good specs packed in.
