Earlier this month, the entry-level Huawei Y5 2019 smartphone was leaked online. The device is now listed on the company’s official website. While the last year’s Huawei Y5 was launched as an Android Go smartphone, 2019 variant comes with the in-house EMUI. Even though the device comes with a waterdrop notch display, the thick bezels can be easily noticed. The Huawei Y5 2019 with its faux leather finish stands out from the plethora of cheap Android smartphones. Huawei also mentioned it to be anti-fingerprint and wear-resistant.

It will be available in Midnight Black, Sapphire Blue, Amber Brown, and Modern Black color options. The Huawei Y9 2019 sports a 5.71-inch waterdrop notch display with HD+ (1520 x 720 pixels) resolution and 84.6% screen-to-body ratio. It is also TUV Rheinland certified for blocking the harmful Blue light. Under the hood is the 12nm MediaTek Helio A22 octa-core processor clocked at 2.0GHz. The device will be available in 2GB and 3GB RAM variants with 16GB and 32GB of internal storage respectively. There is also a MicroSD card slot for further expansion of storage up to 512GB.

In the camera department, the Huawei Y9 2019 comes with a 13MP autofocus camera on the rear with f/1.8 aperture and a 5MP fixed focus camera on the front with f/2.2 aperture. The device is backed by a 3,020mAh non-removable battery that is rated to give up to 16 hours of video playback or up to 10 hours for 4G internet browsing. It runs on the latest Android 9.0 Pie based EMUI 9.0 out of the box. While there is no fingerprint scanner on this device, it at least comes with face unlock support. It measures 147.13 x 70.78 x 8.45 mm and weighs 146 grams.

Connectivity options include 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS, A-GPS, 3.5mm audio jack, and a MicroUSB 2.0 port. Depending on the markets, the Huawei Y9 2019 will be coming with dual SIM dual standby and NFC support. Both the power button and volume rocker are placed on the right edge. As of now, there is no information about the pricing or the availability of the device. Stay tuned on Phone Radar for more details!
