Huawei Mate 8 with Kirin 950 SoC Announced for Global markets, Price Starts from €599
Almost two months after launching the Huawei Mate 8 in China, the company has officially announced this premium phablet for the international markets. The 6-inch 1080p display smartphone has a body made entirely with aluminum. The large sized phone from the Chinese mobile giant would be available in four colors.
The latest offering from the brand is powered by an in-house processor, Kirin 950 chipset, which is their fastest processor yet. The Mate 8 being the first device to house this chipset where the company uses TSMC 16 nm FinFET Plus chip technology. It sports a 6-inch Quad HD display that gives great color output.
The device will be launched in two variants with 3GB of RAM and 32GB of internal storage and the another variant with 4GB RAM and 64GB of storage. It includes a 16MP rear camera and an 8MP front-facing selfie camera. The device will run on Android 6.0 Marshmallow out-of-the-box with EMUI 4.0 overlaid.
It is backed by a 4,000mAh battery that gives 28 hours of talk time and 98 hours of continuous music playback. With the included 9V/2A power adapter, it supports fast charging that 1 day of battery life with just 30 minutes charging. Like the mid-range Huawei GX8, the Mate 8 also includes a fingerprint sensor placed on the rear of the device.
It includes built-in thermal control system with 6 layers of thermal mechanics. The device is announced in four different colors – Space Gray, Moonlight Silver, Champagne Gold and Mocha Brown. Coming to the pricing, the 3GB variant is priced at €599 while the 4GB variant costs €699.
