Huawei Launches Nova Lite+ & Nova Young Smartphones with HD Display & 2GB RAM
Huawei has launched two new entry-level smartphones dubbed Nova Lite+ and Nova Young in Italy. The Huawei Nova Lite+ priced at €169 (approx $200 / Rs. 12,800) was earlier launched as Huawei Y7. On the other hand, the Nova Young is the same Huawei Y6 2017 smartphone and comes with a price tag of €146 (approx $172 / Rs. 11,000). The availability of both these smartphones in other European markets is not yet known.
The Nova Lite+ & Nova Young smartphones pack entry-level specifications. The Nova Lite+ runs on the latest Android 7.0 Nougat based EMUI 5.1 and the Nova Young runs on year’s old Android 6.0 Marshmallow. While the Nova Lite+ comes in Frost, Argento and Prestige Gold color options, the Huawei Nova Young will be available in Gold and White color options.
Huawei Nova Lite+
The Nova Lite+ comes with the metal body and sports a 2.5D curved glass on the front. It measures 153.6 x 76.4 x 8.35 mm and weighs 165 grams. The device sports a 5.5-inch HD (1280 x 720 pixels) display and comes powered by Snapdragon 435 octa-core processor clocked at 1.4GHz. It comes coupled with Adreno 505 GPU and 2GB of RAM. There is just 16GB of internal storage that can be further expanded via a MicroSD card slot.
In the camera department, the Nova Lite+ sports a 12MP rear camera with autofocus, PDAF, and LED flash. There is also an 8MP camera on the front for selfies and video calls. It is backed by a 4,000mAh non-removable battery that should easily give a day long battery life. The power button and volume rocker are placed on the right edge of the device. Connectivity options include 4G LTE, GPS, A-GPS, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.1, 3.5mm audio jack, and MicroUSB 2.0 port.
Huawei Nova Young
It comes with a 5-inch IPS display that offers HD (1280 x 720 pixels) resolution. Under the hood is the quad-core processor clocked at 1.4GHz. It packs 2GB of RAM and 16GB of internal storage. There is also a MicroSD card slot up for expanding the storage up to 128GB. It sports a 13MP sensor on the rear with LED flash and a 5MP sensor on the front for selfies. The Nova Young smartphone also supports dual SIM dual standby.
With a slightly smaller form factor, the Nova Young packs a smaller 3000mAh battery that is rated to give 16 hours of talk time and lasts up to 520 hours on standby mode. The Nova Young measures 155 x 85 x 49 mm and weighs 150 grams. Connectivity options include 4G LTE, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.0, NFC, 3.5mm audio jack, and MicroUSB 2.0 port. It also packs a bunch of sensors including the proximity sensor, digital compass, accelerometer and ambient light sensor.
