Videocon Metal Pro 2 4G VoLTE Smartphone with Android 7.0 Nougat Launched for Rs. 6,999

Videocon launches a new entry-level smartphone called Metal Pro 2 in India. The smartphone is priced at just Rs. 6,999 and runs on the latest Android 7.0 Nougat out of the box. As the name suggests, the Metal Pro 2 comes with a metal back body. At this price range, the Metal Pro 2 competes with Xiaomi Redmi 4 and Moto E4 smartphones. Recently, there are few new Chinese brands entered the Indian smartphone by launching the budget smartphones. The Videocon Metal Pro 2 comes in Gold and Grey color options.

The company is also offering one-year subscription of Eros Now and 100 days replacement warranty for free with every purchase. Talking about the specifications, the Metal Pro 2 sports a 5-inch IPS display with HD (1280 X 720 pixels) resolution. Under the hood is the 64bit MediaTek MT6737 quad-core processor clocked at 1.2GHz. It comes coupled with 2GB of RAM and 16GB of internal storage that can be expanded up to 128GB via a MicroSD card slot. The smartphone also supports dual SIM dual standby and offers 4G VoLTE for using with Jio 4G SIM.

It is backed by a 2,000mAh non-removable battery that might not last more than day long usage. In the camera department, there is a 13MP rear camera with autofocus and LED Flash. For selfies, there is a 3.2MP fixed focus front camera for selfies and video calls. As seen with the other devices at this price range, the Metal Pro 2 also lacks the fingerprint sensor. Connectivity options include 4G LTE, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.0, GPS, FM Radio, 3.5mm audio jack, and a MicroUSB 2.0 port. The device will be sold via offline stores across the country.

The Metal Pro 2 measures 145.2 x 72.6 x 8.4 mm and weighs 133 grams. A couple of months back, the company launched the Videocon Krypton 22 smartphone with VoLTE and VoWiFi support for Rs. 7,200. It came with a 5-inch FWVGA (854 x 480 pixels) display and is powered by MediaTek MT6737 quad-core processor. There is 2GB of RAM and 16GB of internal storage on this device. It also features an 8MP rear camera with LED flash and a 5MP front camera. The Krypton 22  also sports an IR blaster for controlling the home electronics like TV and AC.
