Huawei to Launch Matebook 2 Powered by Windows 10 OS on May 23rd in Berlin

At the MWC 2016, Huawei launched its first ever 2-in-1 tablet called Matebook with a 12-inch Quad HD display. It runs on Windows 10 OS and came with a magnetic strip for adding the keyboard which also acts as a sleeve. Today, the company has officially confirmed the new Matebook to be unveiled on May 23rd in Berlin. Unlike the last year, the company is expected to launch a total of three variants of Matebook in 2017. The new Matebook E will be the 2-in-1 tablet that will be the successor to the last year’s Matebook. The other two variants, Matebook D and Matebook X will be the regular laptops.
However, the company has to official confirm these details of the new Matebooks. While the company is facing stiff competition from the other smartphone brands in its home country, Huawei comfortably occupied the third spot on the global list of largest smartphone brands. The company already confirmed to launch the Nova 2 and Nova 2 Plus in China on May 26th. The same devices are expected to be first launched in the international markets on May 23rd. The leaked details confirmed Nova 2 to feature dual camera setup on the rear.
As seen with the other Chinese brands, Huawei is also launching camera centric devices. The new Nova 2 smartphones are said to come with a 20MP front facing camera and 13MP + 8MP dual rear cameras. Talking about the upcoming Matebooks, there is no much information apart from the leaked images. Microsoft and Huawei might collaborate to bring at least one variant of the Matebook 2 with the Windows 10 S OS. The 12-inch Matebook also came with additional accessories like digital pen and dock.

The Apple Pen like stylus is priced at $59 and came with 2049 levels of pressure sensitivity. Since the connectivity options are limited on the tablet, the company launched the $89 priced dock that brings the Ethernet, HDMI, VA, and additional USB ports. The first-gen mMatebook even featured a fingerprint sensor along with Microsoft’s Hello for enhancing the security. The one variant of the Matebook 2 with the code name Pascal is listed on Geekbench. It is a 15-inch laptop and packs Intel Core i5 chipset along with 8GB RAM and Windows 10 OS.
Since the launch event is less than 10 days away, we can more expect more leaks to follow soon. Stay tuned on PhoneRadar for more details!
