OPPO with its limited market reach has seen tremendous growth in the last one year. The latest report by Strategy Analytics revealed the OPPO R9s to be the best selling Android smartphone on the global scale. It has shipped more than 8.9 million OPPO R9s devices during the last quarter. The company has achieved all this without having its market presence in the Western world. Now, the company has started teasing the launch of its new high-end smartphone, OPPO R11. Looking at the earlier launched OPPO devices, we also expect to see the OPPO R11 Plus launch alongside the OPPO R11.

Both these devices will be successors to the OPPO R9 and R9 Plus that are launched in first half of 2016. Later, the company also launched the OPPO R9s and R9s Plus as an upgraded variants. OPPO which is known for big marketing promotions has started the OPPO R11 marketing campaign with the big hoarding at the important landmarks of all the major Chinese cities. The Chinese content on the teaser images translates to “20 million before and after the camera more clearly OPPO R11” in English. From this translation, we are expecting the OPPO R11 to feature a 20MP camera on the front and rear of the device.

Few leaks suggest these devices to sport dual camera setup on the rear with the 20MP primary sensor and the 12MP secondary sensor. At the MWC 2017, OPPO unveiled its latest camera technology called “Oppo 5x Dual Camera Zoom System.” With this new technology, the device can deliver 5X optical zoom and there will be no camera bump. While everyone expected the upcoming flagship device from OPPO to feature this new camera technology, the camera bump on the OPPO R11 confirms the lack of the 5X optical zoom. While OPPO is very slow in upgrading its custom Color OS to the latest Android version, we have very little hope to see the upcoming devices running on the latest Android 7.1.1 Nougat out of the box.

The OPPO R11 might come with a 5.5-inch AMOLED display with Full HD (1920 x 1080 pixels) resolution. Under the hood, we might see the newly announced Snapdragon 660 octa-core processor with the custom Kryo 260 cores. It comes coupled with Adreno 512 GPU and also supports Bluetooth 5.0. We will be seeing in-house VOOC flash charging technology instead of the Quick Charge 4.0. The 3C certification confirmed the device to support 5V/4A (20W) fast charging. On the other hand, the OPPO R11 Plus should come with a larger 6-inch AMOLED display.

Other specifications will be same on both the OPPO R11 and R11 Plus devices. The physical home button on the front will also come integrated with the fingerprint sensor. Instead of the six-string design as seen on the OPPO R9 and R9s devices, the company will be launching the OPPO R11 with curved Antenna band design. The official launch date of these devices is yet to be announced. Stay tuned on Phone Radar for more details about the upcoming OPPO R11 and R11 Plus smartphones.
