How to Factory Reset your Samsung Gear S2 SmartWatch



Samsung has recently launched two new wearable products in India i.e., the Samsung Gear S2 and Samsung Gear VR priced at Rs 23,400 and Rs 8,200 respectively. If you are using the Samsung Gear S2 and would like to connect it with any other smartphone then always remember to reset your device before you switch your smartwatch. The Samsung Gear S2 comes with two types Reset options i.e., the Light Reset & Factory Reset. In Light Reset, media files and personal data will not be deleted. All the downloaded apps and S health data that has not been synced will be deleted. In Factory reset, All downloaded apps and personal info will be permanently erased. You can follow the steps mentioned below to Factory reset your Samsung Gear S2.

  • Step 1: Open the Settings and head over to the Reset Gear option at the bottom of the screen and tap on it.
  • Step 2: In the Reset Gear window, you will find two options i.e., the Light Reset and the Factory Reset.
  • Step 3: Now scroll down to the Factory reset option and tap on it.
  • Step 4: Reset Gear message with Yes or No option is displayed. Now tap on the tick mark on factory reset window. Performing Factory reset message is displayed on the screen and device boots as if you are booting it for the first time and device will be initialized again.

Once you are done with Factory reset the device can be easily paired with any other smartphone but make sure that the Samsung Gear application is installed on your device with all the related plugins.


  • Before your factory reset your Samsung Gear S2 make sure the device is charged upto 30% as factory resetting takes times.
