Honor, which is the sub-brand of Huawei has announced its first water-resistant tablet with IP67 certification. Dubbed as Honor WaterPlay, the tablet was initially launched a year back, and the company has decided to bring back the tablet with IP67 certification for water-resistance. This tablet is available in Gold and Silver color variants and is priced at 1499 Yuan (approx Rs. 16,000) for the 64GB Wi-FI version while the 128GB Wi-Fi variant is available for 1899 Yuan (approx Rs. 20,100). There is also a 64GB LTE version priced at 1799 Yuan (approx Rs. 19,000) and these tablets will be going for order in China starting November 6.
The Honor WaterPlay comes with an 8-inch 1200 x 1920 pixels WXGA display with 60 percent of NTSC color Gamut. Out of the box, it will be coming with Android 8.0 operating system based on the companies own EMUI 5.1. Under the hood, we can find a Kirin 659 SoC with eight cores with four A53 cores clocking at 2.36 GHz and the other four clocking at 1.7GHz coupled with 4GB of RAM and MaliT830-MP2 GPU.
The device will be available in 64GB and 128GB storage options which can be extended further up to a maximum of 256GB via microSD card slot. On the rear, we can find a 13MP main camera sensor along with a 2MP secondary camera with f/2.4 aperture size. On the front, there is an 8MP camera with f/2.0 aperture size for selfies and video calling. As mentioned earlier, the company as added IP67 certification for water and dust resistance and there is also a fingerprint sensor on the handset to enhance the security levels.
The tablet measures 248 mm x 173 mm x 7.8 mm and weighs 465 grams. There is a 3.5mm audio jack given on the device and also features Huawei’s Histen 3D audio.
