Honor Watch Confirmed to Launch Alongside Honor Magic 2 on October 31st

The flagship Honor Magic 2 powered by the 7nm HiSilicon Kirin 980 chipset will be unveiled on the October 31st in China. A few rumors also suggest the company to partner with the electric car maker Tesla to launch a special edition device. Earlier this week, the company posted a new teaser image containing the letters M and W. While the M is meant for Magic 2, today’s Weibo post clarifies, the W is for Honor’s new smartwatch called Honor Watch.
From the teaser image, we can confirm the Honor Magic to come with a rounded display. A couple of year’s back, Honor launched Honor Watch S1 smartwatch with the rounded display. However, the Watch S1 is a more like a fitness tracker than a full-fledged smartwatch. With the upcoming Honor Watch, we expect the company to complete smartwatch features as seen on the Huawei Watch GT introduced alongside the Huawei Mate 20 smartphones.
On the right side of the Honor Watch’s dial are the hardware buttons. We expect the Honor Watch to run on the same custom OS as seen on the Huawei Watch GT instead of the Google’s Android-based Wear OS. The Honor Watch will come with a continuous heart rate sensor and should be waterproof up to 5ATM. While the scheduled launch event is just 11 days away, we expect to see the leaks to come out soon.
