Huawei sub-brand Honor is all set to launch its new flagship phone of this year – the Honor View 20 smartphone in the Indian market on January 29th. It is supposedly the world’s first smartphone to feature a punch-hole camera on the display. It sits right on top of the screen on the left featuring a 25MP camera. The View 20 also hosts dual cameras on the rear, of which, one is a 48MP primary sensor, which is also presumably the industry’s first phone to feature such a significant camera sensor. Besides, the other camera is a ToF 3D stereo camera. The 48MP camera sensor on the Honor View 20 brings in some exciting new features, which we have checked out during our testing.
Here are some of the Top features on the upcoming Honor View 20’s 48MP camera –
This mode on the Honor View 20 features multiple modes that utilize AR to create GIFs and animated emojis, which the company calls it Qmojis. The multiple modes include – 3D Qmojis, Effects & Backgrounds.
The Honor View 20 has various 3D animated emojis named – 3D Qmojis. These animated emojis feature all kinds of animal emoji, which utilize AR to scan your face and record those animated 3D Qmoji videos in 720p resolution.
The View 20’s 48MP camera also has AR Effects with music-enabled with which you can create GIFs (can be recorded in 16:9 format) and can share them across social media platforms.
The View 20 camera can also shoot photos and videos with fancy AR-enabled backgrounds which include several stickers and notable cities monuments.
The Honor View 20’s 48MP camera has a Night Mode, which helps you take better photos with details under extremely low light conditions. When the night mode is enabled, it captures an image by taking multiple pictures with a span of 10sec and gives the best picture under darker environments.
The View 20’s camera can shoot portrait shots with different beauty and bokeh and other notable lighting effects with both front and rear cameras. The portrait mode also has a beauty mode that can enhance your image by making the subject more softer. If you dive-in more in the portrait mode, you can find shaping mode, which lets you tweak the shape of the subject before capturing.
The 48MP camera on the Honor View 20 has the conventional regular photo mode that features AI scene recognition – when enabled; it can identify multiple scene scenarios before the image is captured.
The camera also has AR shopping mode – to identify the object and find related products via Amazon service.
And, the similar Huawei’s HiVision mode helps in identifying objects such as food and buildings and gives you related links powered by Microsoft’s search engine.
In addition, the camera works as a QR and Barcode scanner that helps you to scan products. Lastly, the photo mode also has ‘capture smiles’ feature, which when enabled allows you to take photos automatically when the smiles of the subject are detected.
As for the video recording is concerned, the Honor View 20’s 48MP has the traditional video recording of up to 4K resolution along with several background filters and beauty effects.
The Honor View 20’s 48MP camera isn’t done yet. There’s one last mode on the camera UI when headed over opens up a bunch of several other modes including a document scanner – to scan documents.
A dedicated Pro mode is also present on the View 20’s camera to tweak the settings of the camera such as ISO, Auto Focus, Exposure, White balance and more. The 48MP Honor View 20 Camera also has a slow-motion record feature, which can record up to 960fps. The camera also has Panorama & 3D Panorama capturing features as well. In addition to these the rear camera has Aperture adjustment feature – to adjust the background bokeh effects and an HDR mode – to capture images with precise details according to lighting conditions.
The Artist mode on the View 20’s camera helps you capture photos with various painting effects, which would be ideal to share them on social media.
Besides you also get stickers as well, which enables you to add and share photos with timestamp stickers, location stickers and more. And, last but not the least, the Honor View 20 camera also has Light painting mode hidden in the more settings.
This mode also has different effects that include – Traffic trails, Light graffiti, Silky water, and Star Trails. These modes when enabled, capture a sequence of photos and the final image captured looks interesting.
This is designed for the low-light conditions especially in the night, wherein users can try it on the moving traffic or try with a flashlight enabled subject, which when enabled can capture quite beautiful images.
