Everything We Know About Honor 9 Pro Smartphone – Specifications, Features & Launch Date

Almost a month ago, Honor confirmed to launch a new smartphone on December 5th in London. As of now, there are no specific details about the upcoming smartphone from the company. However, we expect to see the Honor 9 Pro on that day. Based on the leaks, the Honor 9 Pro will be the same Honor V10 that is going to launch on November 28th in China. Earlier this year, Honor also launched China-exclusive Honor V9 as Honor 8 Pro in the international markets. Even the mid-range Honor 7X is also announced to launch in December.

Talking about the design, the Honor 9 Pro comes with a unibody metal design featuring rounded corners. It sports a 5.93-inch FullView Display with Full HD+ (2160 × 1080 pixels) & 18:9 aspect ratio. Even the mid-range Honor 9i and Honor 7X also came with same FullView display with Full HD+ resolution. However, the Honor 9 Pro will be powered by the flagship Kirin 970 octa-core processor coupled with Mali-G72 MP12 GPU and a dedicated NPU.

The recently launched Huawei Mate 10 and Mate 10 Pro smartphones also came with the same Kirin 970 processor. It will be coming in 4GB and 6GB RAM variants with 64GB and 128GB of internal storage respectively. There will also be a MicroSD card slot for further expansion of storage. We expect the device to run on the latest EMUI 8.0 based on Android 8.0 Oreo out of the box. With all these specifications, the device will be kept powered on by a 3,240mAh non-removable battery.

In the camera department, the Honor 9 Pro will be featuring 16MP + 2MP dual rear cameras along with an 8MP front-facing camera. It also comes with a rear-facing fingerprint sensor, which should also support gestures. It measures 156.5 × 75.3 × 7.6 mm and weighs 165 grams. The device will be available in Gold, Black, and Blue color options. Alongside the Honor 9 Pro, we also expect the company to launch the mid-range Honor 7X smartphone.

It also comes with an 18:9 FullView display and dual rear cameras. Unlike the Honor 9 Pro, the Honor 7X will be powered by the Kirin 659 octa-core processor. Since the official launch date is just two weeks away, we can expect more details in the coming days. Stay tuned on PhoneRadar for more details!
