Panasonic has been very aggressive in the Indian smartphone market. The company is on its path to launch 20 smartphones by the end of this year. With the Eluga series smartphones, the company also integrated its in-house Arbo AI assistant. However, the company is yet to launch a smartphone with an 18:9 display. Panasonic has now confirmed to launch a new smartphone called Eluga C in Taiwan. Though there is no confirmation over the 18:9 aspect ratio, the device is confirmed to feature three-sided edge-to-edge display.
The teaser image also confirmed the launch date as November 29th. Talking about the design, the device looks similar to the Sharp Aquos smartphones. The Eluga C comes with a three-sided almost bezel-less display. From the image, we can still spot the standard earpiece above the display. The bottom bezel of the device includes a physical home with an integrated fingerprint sensor, front-facing camera, and a bunch of sensors. The Xiaomi Mi MIX and Mi MIX 2 also came with a selfie camera placed on the bottom bezel.
It will be running on Android 7.0 Nougat out of the box. As of now, there are no other details about this upcoming smartphone. Earlier this month, Panasonic India launched the offline exclusive Eluga A4 for Rs. 12,490. It is backed by a mammoth 5000mAh that should easily more than a day-long battery life. It came with a 5.2-inch HD display and is powered by 1.25GHz MediaTek quad-core processor. The device also includes 3GB of RAM and 32GB of expandable storage. There is also a 13MP camera on the rear and a 5MP camera on the front.
